The East Coast Mainline before Virgin/Stagecoach was worker-run and made £1 billion in 5 years. A better service and low complaints.

Vanessa Bowen, HarrogateI believe that railways should be run for the people and not for private profit. This is such an important service and decisions should be made in the interests of the public.
Charlotte Peters Rock, KnutsfordWhat we have now is shambolic and has been ever since they split it. We need a re-joined rail network, with a slew of newly re-opened stations, especially in Middlewich.
Henry Saville, WallaseyI am so angered by the blatant profiteering of the train operating companies and the obvious inefficiencies created by privatisation.
Dympna Child, WareEnough is Enough. Stop robbing people and making their lives a misery. All everyone wants is to be able to get to their job at an affordable cost.
Kathleen O’Neill, HampshireWe owned it and the government sold it without our permission. That’s theft in my book. We want it back please or we will have to take it.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
