Bring back British Rail. Now With Investment and reopening closed lines.
Dave Boyle, GraysIt’s disgraceful. It never should have been allowed to be privatised.
John F Spencer, ShirebrookEverything should be back in the tax payers’ hands.
Elizabeth Cross, ChichesterI long for the old days when the railways were run by people who were truly interested in their jobs and not run for greedy profiteers but for the passengers.
JamesAt my local station there are no staff after 11am. The platforms are ill-maintained, railings missing and graffiti and litter everywhere.
Katherine Newey, ExeterI don’t drive and am dependent on public transport. Services are inferior and more expensive than under BR.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
