The responsibility for our railways should be in one hand and accountable to the people.
The rail network should not have been privatised in the first place.
East Coast mainline is profitable. Apply this template to the other companies and re-nationalise. Nothing wrong with a profitable state-owned system.
We need a train service run for the passengers and people, not corporate profit.
It should never have been privatised in the first place. People before profit. Bring back steam. Think of the jobs created within the coal industry and reopen the pits.

Privatizing has buggered up the electricity industry, the gas industry, the water industry and the waste disposal industry too. Some things should be considered a service and run to provide just that at an economic cost not a way of milking the end users.
