I want British Rail back.
Peter Shaw, HorshamMost UK rail travel is unreliable, inconvenient, uncomfortable, prohibitively expensive, of benefit only to the overseas owners and, unfit for purpose. Enough is enough.
Benjamin Adams, LewesWe all need our rail system. It is not only essential for our nation but should be part of our national pride.
Michael Barlow, DurhamGNER was the most efficient service in the country when back in public hands, which says it all. Privately owned means profit before investment.
Graham Thomas, KidwellyThe sooner the better. Let’s put an end to what foreign investors call the UK – Treasure Island.
Garry Thomas, StrathavenThe free market ideology that privatised railways means profit for the few while the state bails out. It’s the same with the energy companies and now the NHS.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
