It makes sense.
Paul Sheeky, CreweIt’s a national service, so it’s obviously going to be more efficient to run it nationally.
Colin Partington, WirralThe rail system is fine if you’re just going from A to B. If you’re going to C and need to change at D, and the second leg is with a different company – good luck with that!
David Melville Wingrove, EdinburghIn the shameless legacy of the Blair and Thatcher years, the Great Rail Rip-Off ranks among the worst. Re-nationalise now.
Douglas Carey, EpsomAll British utilities should be publicly-owned, not just British Rail, but all public transport and water, electricity and gas, and all should be run as not-for-profit.
Michael Ward, NottinghamA botched and malicious idea from its inception. Railways of this country should be owned by the state and run for the benefit of all. There should be a public debate.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
