Marjorie Arnold, ManchesterWhy should we be subsidising a company that is making billions and still failing. Think of all the profits which could go to a much better service if it was nationally owned.
Claudia Bultman, GravesendWe are fed up with all these fat cats which are lining their pockets with lots of money. Let the people run the railways and you will see the improvements they bring.
Maggie Cooke, LondonThis is ridiculous – the rich get richer at the poor’s expense.
Cyril Fitzgerald, PontypoolThe UK tax payer has subsidised rail companies by £102.68billion since 1985, together with rail fare increases of up to 300% since 2004. It’s a disgrace.
Terry Davies, TelfordPassengers not profit, just as it should be patients and not profit in the NHS. Give us back our assets.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
