There are so many social and environmental benefits from having a well-used railway system. It is not suitable to be run by short-termist corporations.
Northern rail are a joke with late and cancelled trains all the time. Privatisation never works.
Judging by today’s performance bring British Rail back now.

Privatizing has buggered up the electricity industry, the gas industry, the water industry and the waste disposal industry too. Some things should be considered a service and run to provide just that at an economic cost not a way of milking the end users.
