Rail prices are high, service is low and standards are low.
Debbie Stephenson, SouthportWe need to remove road traffic and the return to rail is not helped by greedy private ownership. We must have a re-unified rail network. This is not rocket science.
Chris Gilchrist, BristolEnd the charade of buck-passing and excessive fares.
David Pointon, Scholar GreenRail services are only marginally better than when the line opened.
Vanessa Carr, St AlbansBritish Rail should be run as one organisation for the public, not individual companies whose sole aim is to make a profit for the shareholders.
Alan TingleIf British Railways had received subsidies equivalent to those now received by the Train Operating Companies, we would still have the finest railway system in the world.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
