British Rail branch lines are sorely missed by many.
Johnathan Mark Sharpe-Smith, Great DriffieldPublic transport. Public, belonging to the people not invisible shareholders. Trains for people, not for private profits.
Callum Winfield, IlkestonI am sick of all these foreign businesses abusing the system to milk us of all our hard-earned money. It has to stop being about profit. Make British rail British.
James Honke, IverThe current system is a farce, which costs the taxpayer millions and lets private companies skim off the top.
John Greig, EdinburghNationalise the rail network.
Susan Roberts, AbertilleryRegrettably, commonsense isn’t too common. This is undeniably achievable, so let’s do it.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
