The carriage works in York were closed at the time of privatisation and rail fares are far too high. A bloody disgrace.

Privatisation was forced on us for cheaper fares and modernisation. We have gone backwards massively in both these steps. Bring back British Rail.

Modern train travel is not what it should be, with high fares, delayed or cancelled trains, overcrowding and so it goes on. BR was not perfect but at least they tried.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
