The carriage works in York were closed at the time of privatisation and rail fares are far too high. A bloody disgrace.

Mark McQuillan, LondonEast Coast is doing well under national ownership, It would be good to see more of it.
Lucy Renton, LondonThe train service in this country is vastly overpriced, ticketing system labyrinthine, and not fit for purpose.
Jeff Hemmen, LondonAs a foreigner who now lives in the UK, I still cannot believe how expensive (and otherwise capitalist) trains in the UK are, and that the British people let this happen.
John Hindhaugh, GatesheadIt is so financially obvious (which is very important to this government) that further comment really is not needed. Wake up Labour Party. We all hacked off on this one.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
