It just makes sense to do so: cheaper fares for the people and more profitable income for the government.

Ben Bailey, BrightonI agree that re-nationalising the railways is a common sense idea.
Stephen Davis, BristolI fully agree. Overpriced and complicated. It costs more to go to London than it does to fly to Spain. Profit of BR goes back into the country and not into private hands.
John Young, NottinghamThe privatisation project of the last thirty years has been an ideologically driven disaster, and the railways fiasco of the 1990s was amongst the most egregious.
Glenys Law, LondonThe best way of getting this to happen is to support Jeremy Corbyn and vote Labour in the next election. This is one of his manifesto pledges.
Damian Toal, BrightonI’m sick to death of funding shareholders’ lifestyle over service.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
