British Rail should be state owned.
Mark Kochan, LittlehamptonEnough is enough. Nationally crucial infrastructure such as water, rail etc. must not be fed to the wolves of private capital. We, the English people, demand better!
Richard Hanks, SheffieldPeople before profit!
Lee O’Callaghan, PeterboroughI am embarrassed by the state of our British railways service. As a commuter I am robbed every year of more money to prop it up. We must nationalise now.
Michele Walker, WoodstockA unified public sector rail network, properly subsidised, should be a much more organised, and profitable venture.
Christopher Key, BasingstokeThe current system, that prioritises rail company profits over efficiency, and ease for customers, is interminable.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
