East Coast is the best example of why it should be brought back.
David Solomons, SaleThe privatisation was a mistake in the first place. Railways are for people, not investors.
Antonella Massari, BristolI am 60 and I used British Rail daily, in my youth. I want BR back, in public ownership.
Terence Sythes, Milton KeynesPrivatisation seems to be the default position of Tory policy. The services are never better run, but at least the select few can benefit.
Robin Kinrade, MaidstoneThe hotchpotch of private companies and railway track providers etc. is just not working efficiently and travellers are being milked more and more. Public ownership is best.
Colin Robinson, GatesheadPrivate enterprise is failing and is too expensive. Any surplus should go to the Treasury not to shareholders.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
