Back to the good old days.
Jim McClew, WashingtonPrivatisation of the railways has proved to be as ridiculous and impracticable a notion as it always appeared. It’s time to go back to common sense.
Matthew Mountain, LondonWe privatise to make money for the private sector. Why? We are not the private sector, we are Britain and we should run our services for us, not for private companies.
Simon Hough, TetburyEnvironmentally, socially and economically, the imperative must be to run the railways for the nation’s good and not for private profit.
Christine Sharp, HastingsEndless delays, overpriced fares and no choice. Rail is a public service, not a private business. I am a passenger – not a customer.
Jonathan Tummons, YorkThe railways should be in national ownership and not in the hands of profiteers.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
