John Tucker, BrixhamI’ve just returned from train travel through France, Italy and Switzerland and Eurostar. I then went from Paddington to Newton Abbot by First Great Western – oh dear, shameful.
Leanne Green, HydeLet’s bring back British Rail and lower prices for tickets, as private companies are charging way too much to travel to places.
Jason Egerton, GlossopEither completely cut the government out of it or re-nationalise it. No half way measures.
Susan Farquharson, BexhillGovernment should be putting money into the rail infrastructure. It should not be run as a business as the fares are ridiculously high.
David Marsh, Southend-on-SeaNetwork Rail is already public-owned. Bring back the rest to the public, at least it would benefit from the comparative simplicity of being run by one organisation.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
