Private companies messed it up once. Nationalised it had its faults, but this re-privatisation is a disaster. The only investment in our railways is still public.

Scott Brady, BurntislandEast Coast has failed in private hands, worked profitably for the state, yet has been returned to the private sector. Bonkers.
Elizabeth Connell, BristolEssential services should not be run for the profit of the few. All profits should be used to keep fares as low as possible and to maintain the network.
Kevin Dudding, Kingston-upon-HullIt is so disjointed that it is unreal, needs to be nationalised to function for the many not the few.
Martin Hatter, BristolPublic transport should mean just that: transport publicly owned for the benefit of the public, not privately owned for the benefit of shareholders.
Mark Waterer, AshfordRailways were privatised so why is the government spending £50bn to build a new line only to hand it over to a private operator for the benefit of a few people?
