John Walker, ColchesterThe railways need to be re-nationalised – the investment in our network needs to be overhauled. We invented the railways, let’s make it the envy of the World again!
Maggie Lewis, Waltham-on-the-WoldsI understand what you mean but I dislike the British Rail tag. Let’s aim a little higher than that.
Robert Sellers, LondonThe government privatised the profit and nationalised the debt.
Russell Alexander, ManchesterI cannot believe that the current rail service is still allowed to operate such a substandard service. I travel to work on TransPennine and Northern Rail.
Andrew Thomas, BristolIt’s very important that the railways are publicly owned with surpluses re-invested in the infrastructure and keeping fares down.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
