Angus Bickmore, HarbottleI used to work for BR back in the 90s when the government started to sell off the railways. I knew then that it was a very bad mistake and was totally against it.
John Stobbie, MelbourneBritish rail used to be good when I was there but now it is crap. Services like this should always be government-owned. They should be for the people, not private profit.
Kathleen A Hancox, RuncornWe need a reliable, affordable train service. My husband commutes to Manchester, my daughter is going to university in Huddersfield and my eldest lives in Sheffield.
Harvey Booker, Burgess HillPrivate companies are bleeding off farepayers’ and taxpayers’ money for profit, with no benefits for passengers.
Rik Manning, StroudA railway network based on service not profit. I want a truly inclusive rail service so the average citizen can travel at a reasonable price.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
