Tim Pickles, CardiffWhy did we ever privatise a fantastic national system? It doesn’t work.
Russell Ablewhite, OsloI always knew it would turn into this. Railways were nationalised in the first place for this reason. Pure greed.
Jonathan Baker, WhitstableThe present system is too costly to maintain with shareholders, banks and lawyers to pay. With British Rail all the track, signalling and operating was all under one umbrella.
Gerard Brady, MotherwellAs a frequent rail traveller throughout the UK, I’m in favour of re-nationalising British Rail. Fares are too expensive and the fare structure too complicated.
Terry McCann, WorthingThe transport of people around our country is a public service, not a profit opportunity for the benefit of fat-cats.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
