I’m Dutch but it hurts to see what has happened to the great British railways.
James Fussell, MI live in Sweden but I’m British, Bristolian born and bred, and I’m 100% in favour of re-nationalisation of the rail system – without compensation.
Richard Gulliford, LeedsGive us back our trains at prices we can afford – by reinvesting rather than paying dividends and huge salaries to the fat cats.
Helen Dodd, EssexI would like to see our trains brought back into public ownership. Most of our franchisees are state operated – by other countries!
Tina Audus, St NeotsI can’t believe the cost of a return to London. I thought the government wanted us to use public transport.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
