Public transport should be affordable and not based on profit.
Robin Braddow, NewarkThe East Coast line runs right through my town. In fact I live only a few hundred yards from it. I can sit and watch the array of privatised train companies using it.
Kevin Webb, SelbyThe railways should be run for the people not for profit.
Jonathan Dimsdale, HarrogateObviously, you have all forgotten that British Rail was never on time, equally expensive and passengers were treated as an unnecessary nuisance.
Amy Sargent, PortsmouthI would like to ask my local MP, Penny Mordaunt (Con) to actually speak out and call for a motion on this. The saving and benefits are undeniable.
Mike Fitzgerald, Newcastle-upon-TyneThe lunacy has to stop. When will the public realise that privatisation means finance/investment is being taken out of the system into shareholders’ pockets?

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
