Lawrence Scott, CarlisleI have always been an advocate of bringing back the railways into the public sector putting profit into the government coffers instead of Branson etc.
Ian Love, SouthseaRe-nationalise the whole of the railways (and the buses for that matter). Give the power to the people instead of profits for the rich.
Ali Joy, LeedsPrivatisation has given us a disjointed service that only benefits shareholders. If anyone can make the railways pay, so can the government.
John Stead, SunderlandThe railways need investment. Yes. They used to get it. But it was described as financial losses. Now they get money poured into them to guarantee profits. That is a loss.
Chris Lindon, SheffieldOur train services are appalling, woefully inadequate, always late, expensive and only increasing in cost year upon year. Trains are a necessity and should be re-nationalised.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
