If privatisation is so successful why do they rely on subsidies to keep their shareholders happy?
Malcolm Love, SteyningThis sort of concerted action by ordinary people is long overdue. The evidence of privatised rail failure stares us in the face.
Sion Hughes, LlanerchymeddIt’s about time our railway was taken back from privateers. The farce has gone on for far to long.
Shirley Salter, DerbyThis entire country is being sold off bit by bit. Rail services now are expensive and totally ineffective. Bring back our industry and services.
Keith Barrow, HuddersfieldTransport should let people get from A to B as cheaply as possible, not for profit. One fare for each journey, not having to find the cheapest available.
Vanessa Carr, St AlbansBritish Rail should be run as one organisation for the public, not individual companies whose sole aim is to make a profit for the shareholders.

Bring Back British Rail is coordinated from Glasgow by Ellie Harrison, with the help of a small network of volunteers around the UK.
The campaign operates as a ‘non-charitable campaigning body’ and so is free to carry out political activity and act as a pressure group.
It aims to be a completely autonomous and transparent passenger-led organisation, which has no direct affiliation with any political parties.
